Estimated 2009-2010 Cost of Attendance for Graduate Students

Full time graduate students in MES and MPA generally register for 8 credits per quarter. MIT students register for 16 credits per quarter. MEd students may register for a range of credits each quarter. An estimated cost of attendance table is available on the MEd Program Costs and Financial Aid web page.

Note: The Washington State Legislature and the Evergreen Board of Trustees set the rate of tuition annually. Tuition is subject to change without notice. The rates below are the estimated costs for an academic year.

If you register for more than 8 credits in the MES or MPA curriculum, the per credit tuition for Washington residents is $218.90; the per credit tuition for nonresidents is $666.80.

MEd Students

Since MEd students may register for a range of credits each quarter, please review the estimated cost of attendance table available on the MEd Program Costs and Financial Aid web page.

Additional Fees

In addition to tuition, there are four mandatory fees for students that are collected every quarter.

College Activities Building Redesign Fee $5.75 per credit / $115.00 maximum
Intercity Transit (Bus) $1.10 per credit / $13.20 maximum
Clean Energy $1.00 per credit / $20.00 maximum
Late Night Transit (Bus) $3.00 flat fee for all students regardless of credit load
Health Center $58.00 flat fee for students registered for 10 to 20 credits

Financial Aid and Scholarship information for graduate students is maintained by the Graduate Support Services Office. You may also wish to consult general financial aid information for all students, too.

If you apply for a loan, a 2.5% loan fee will be charged. For example, if you apply for a $1,000 loan, the 2.5% loan fee will be deducted from this loan amount and your account will be credited with $975 (minus the $25 loan fee.)

There are two voluntary fees that are collected every quarter if you choose to contribute:

Washington Public Interest Research Group ( WashPIRG ) $8.00
Student Lobbying Fee $2.00

The office of Student Accounts is the central billing unit for the college.

Here are a couple of examples of quarterly tuition and fees:

Washington Resident student registered for 16 credits = $2,491.60 (including WashPIRG and the Student Lobbying Fee)
Nonresident student registered for 16 credits = $6,869.60 (including WashPIRG and the Student Lobbying Fee)
