Biographical Note

Camille Steen has worked in the apparel industry in a variety of roles. She began her design career at Serac, Inc. an innovative skiwear company in the 80s, and later at Calvert Sports Apparel, where she directed the design room and developed skiwear, outerwear, sweaters and active sportswear.

At Nordstrom Product Group she worked as woven designer for the Direct Sales division, and as technical designer for a variety of divisions. Currently the Product Engineer Lead at ExOfficio LLC, she is also co-author of the popular Fairchild textbook Technical Sourcebook for Designers. She enjoys fashion illustration and textile design, and recently exhibited her textile designs at the Printsource show in New York City.

She has been a member of the Curriculum Committee at Seattle Central Community College since 2002, and has participated in numerous lectures and teaching events for adults and children on the subject of Apparel Design and the commercialization process.
