Drawing Solutions: How Visual Goal Setting Will Change Your Life

Publication Excerpt

If it is true that one of the only things we can count on in life is change, then knowing how to deal with and navigate changes when they happen is critical for success, happiness and ultimately, survival.

This book is for anyone face to face with a situation that requires them to make changes. It doesn’t matter if the change you are dealing with is huge, terrifying and unexpected such as unemployment or a health crisis. Or change that starts with the growing awareness that something is missing in your life until it becomes a longing for something new, like more creative work or a satisfying relationship.

If this sounds like you, and you feel at a loss about what to do right now to navigate the challenges you’re facing, this book can be your guide. Using simple, proven techniques you can transform what you wish were happening into a solid map toward the life you desire.

This technique is based on the simple truth that when you draw a picture of something you want to see happen, your brain sends out signals that begin to magnetize the results you long for. Almost immediately, you will begin to transform your life.

How did Evergreen help you in your career?

Evergreen was and still is an amalgam of smart people and innovative approaches to learning within a relaxed and open environment. I often tell people that Evergreen and the faculty I worked with helped shape my values, my work in the world, and my belief in myself. I feel fortunate to have spent my formative years as a young adult surrounded by nature, nurture and the creative genius of its faculty. With that as my foundation, I was able to create and launch multiple careers in multiple industries. I attribute my ability to successfully mash-up art, theatre, film and culture into the business sector to the structure of interdisciplinary learning that I experienced at Evergreen.
