Sean was raised in Berkeley, California and currently teaches ethnomusicology, Irish Studies, and Asian Studies at Evergreen. She has spent considerable time in Asia and Europe, and her publications (books, articles, reviews, CD liner notes, etc.) reflect this dual focus.
