Evergren Men's Basketball at Albertson 2005

January 21, 2005

CALDWELL, ID -- Evergreen (8-15, 3-7) ran out to a 5-0 lead against number 14 ranked Albertson College, but the Coyotes responded - using a 15-2 burst to take a 19-9 lead early in the first half.

Evergreen got a 20 point-12 rebound night from post Barson Collins, but managed just 4-of-15 shooting from outside the arc as they were never able to cut Albertson's lead to less than seven in their 77-59 loss.

Collings got little scoring help from his teammates as only Gio Woods finished the night in double figures with 10 points.

Albertson's E.J. Costello scored a season high 25 points, and the 'Yote defense forced 22 turnovers and held the Geoducks to just 38-percent shooting.

With the win Albertson ended a two game skid while snapping Evergreen's hope of a winning streak at two games.

Evergreen heads to Eastern Oregon face the Mountaineers tomorrow night at 7:30 p.m.
