Evergreen Men's Basketball at OIT 2004

KLAMATH FALLS, OR -- Oregon Tech withstood a furious Evergreen State rally and came away with an 80-64 victory Thursday evening at Danny Miles Court.

Tech built a 25 point lead midway through the first half and led 47-24 at the break before the Geoducks second-half run cut the margin to eight (58-50) with 8:50 remaining.

In the end, Levell Hesia, Alex Carlson and Mike Nunes led Oregon Tech (12-5, 2-1) to the victory.

Hesia was 9-for-16 including 4-of-6 from "downtown" and a Tech-high 23 points while Carlson scored 16 on 5-of-8 including 2-of-4 from the arc and Nunes added 13 counters to go with a game-high four steals.

Evergreen State (6-10, 1-2) got a stellar performance from Barson Collins with game-highs of 24 points and nine rebounds while Walter Tucker added 14 points.

The Evergreen State will be at Southern Oregon Friday night while the Hustlin' Owls host Northwest University.
