OLYMPIA, WA - Coaches from the Cascade Collegiate Conference named Evergreen's Pat Mattson honorable mention All-Conference for his play in the 2005-06 season.

The junior guard from Everett, Washington led the Geoducks in scoring averaging just under 15 points per game in conference play to rank 15th in the league in scoring.

The Geoducks finished firat in the league and the country in scoring defense, fulfilling the promise of first-year coach Tom Kenna to build a successful program around defense.

Although Kenna's young Evergreen team never pulled off the upset they needed to propel them into the thick of the league race, the Geoducks played two of the nation's top teams close.

Evergreen posted three- and five-point losses to ninth-ranked Southern Oregon, and, in the final game of the season, played the nation's third-ranked team, Warner Pacific, to a four-point loss.
