The Evergreen State College men's basketball team had a tough game against the University of Puget Sound Loggers Friday night. The Geoducks came out fairly flat offensively, lacking the flair to get the points they needed up on the board. But they did what they needed to do on the defensive end.

The Geoducks were able to stay close and hold a team that usually scores in the 40's the first half. They hit the locker room at half time down by three with a score of 24-27.

The second half for Evergreen started out a little brighter and for a short time they were able to take the lead, but that was taken away quickly and were soon down by 22. With the help of 6'6", juniors Thomas Cook's double-double (25 points 15 rebounds) Pat Mattson's 13 points, the men were able to shave the deficit to 10 respectively.

The game ended University of Puget Sound beating out Evergreen 78-68.
