OLYMPIA, Wash.- The Geoducks have shown improvement with each game and came out on an 8-0 run tonight against the Linfield Wildcats, which ended in a 55-41 victory to make Evergreen 4-5 overall.

Linfield was able to come back with a 13-4 run to take a momentary lead, but the Geoducks took that role over again, though the lead never grew too much until the end when with a few minutes left Evergreen led by 16.

Half time brought a 24-21 score for Evergreen senior, Doug Dietz, leading with 8 points while Linfield's, Jackson Baber, put in 9 points. The Geoducks were able to outscore the Wildcat's from line shooting 6-8 for their 1-2.

Coming out the second half Evergreen slowly increased the lead, shooting 14-23 from field goal range to Linfield's 6-21. The Geoducks ran a widespread offense, taking their time to find a good shot or open space to drive, many times taking the shot clock down to the final seconds.

Defensively they were alert, causing 18 turnovers and snatching 8 steals, junior, Pat Mattson having 4 of those steals. The end of the game brought three Geoducks in double digits, Dietz put down 10 points, while junior, Josh Waite had 12 and freshman, Luke Hammond added 11. Baber continued to lead the Wildcats and finished with the team high of 11.

The Evergreen men will travel to Portland a week from today on December 15 to take on Multnomah Bible College at 7:30 p.m.
