OLYMPIA , Wash. - Albertson College was red-hot shooting the basketball tonight as they downed Evergreen 73-45 in Cascade Collegiate Conference men's basketball action. The 'Yotes opened the game hitting 61 percent from the field and 50 percent from behind the arc to take a 30-19 lead into the locker room.
Things only got worse for the Geoducks in the second half as the 'Yotes upped their success from three-point land to nearly 55 percent.
Ike Strafford led Albertson's charge with 28 points going 10 of 13 on the night hitting six of eight treys. Josh Owen and Dan McFaul also tallied double digits for the 'Yotes scoring 14 and 13 respectively.
The Geoducks were led by Thomas Cook's 11 points and nine rebounds, but Evergreen shot just 36 percent for the game.
With the loss Evergreen falls to 4-10 on the year and 1-4 in conference play. The Geoducks get the chance to rebound from the loss as they host Eastern Oregon University Friday night at 7:30 p.m.
