Evergreen does indeed makes history, upsetting Oregon Tech 89-83 in CCC Tournament

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - Seeded at #8 in the Cascade Conference, Evergreen made an impressive 24-of-32 shots (.750) in the second half for a come from behind 89-83 win over #1 tournament seed Oregon Tech Wednesday evening.
The win was sweetened by the fact that OIT (27-4) has steadily climbed up the NAIA Division II basketball ratings and currently holds the #5 position, surpassing former conference leaders Warner Pacific (#8). Oregon Tech, who had their 9 game winnign streak snapped by Evergreen, has secured their spot in the National Tournament and will not play again until the March tournament.
The Geoducks (10-20) had 31 points from Adam Moore on 14-of-18 from the field and a 23 point 14 rebound performance from point-guard Devon Conner-Green. David Howard stepped in with 18 points.
Oregon Tech had solid games from Joshua Garrett (28), Ryan Fiegi (20) and Levell Hesia (17) but The Owls could not stop the barrage of shots that the Geoducks hit in the second half. OIT took a 12 point lead at halftime but failed to score a basket in the first five minutes of the second half and only four baskets in the first 13 minutes of the second half. During that time the Geoducks went from down 12 points to a lead of 13 points.
OIT came back and took the lead 80-79 on Garrett's three-point field goal with 1:43 left but Evergreen came right back with a Moore bucket and maintained the lead the rest of the way.
Evergreen State will play at #2 seed Warner Pacific while #5 seed Eastern Oregon goes to #3 Northwest on Saturday night. Warner Pacific defeated #7 Southern Oregon 87-82 while Eastern Oregon stopped #4 Albertson 70-65 and Northwest took the #6 seed Concordia 80-68.
