Team loses early game momentum, falls to Lewis & Clark College 64-80

OLYMPIA , Wash. - In the first two minutes of the game, it looked as if Evergreen was intent on avenging their November 28 th loss to Lewis and Clark College as Evergreen opened a 9-0 lead on the Pioneers. The Geoducks held the lead by as much as 10 points for the next 8 minutes before LCC crept their way back, eventually leading Evergreen by 3 points after the first half.
By 10 minutes into the second half Evergreen began to lose any chance of a comeback on their opponents. Coach Tom Kenna commented after the game, "They are well coached and a team that plays hard".
LCC capitalized on Evergreen fouls in the second half. Pioneer team members went to the line 22 times in the second period and earned 15 points off of those attempts. They shot 71% of their free throws in the game versus Evergreen's 50%.
Adam Moore, Marcus Wittaker and Devon Conner-Green were the lead scorers for the Geoducks tonight with 14, 13 and 12 points respectively. Conner-Green secured nine rebounds.
For LCC, Mark Robinowitz scored 18 points for his team and Joey Toboni tallied 14.
Evergreen will next play at home hosting Linfield College at 7:30 PM Friday in a non-conference game. Their overall record is 3-5.
