Forcing turnovers, Evergreen steals a 16 point win

EUGENE, Ore. - Northwest Christian College committed 21 turnovers on Friday night, including 14 in the first half, leading to an 82-66 loss at the hands of Evergreen State.
The Beacons trailed by 16 points at the half and despite their best efforts, and 51% shooting in the second frame, still lost by 16 in Cascade Collegiate Conference action.
Josh Jarrett led all scorers in the losing effort, putting up 29 points on 12-for-21 shooting. He added 13 rebounds for the double-double. Andrew Miller added eleven points to the cause for the Beacons, who fall to 6-13 on the season including a 3-6 clip in conference play.
The Geoducks (11-5, 6-4 CCC) were led by Nate Menafee, who scored 15 first-half points and finished with 23. Nick Moore was in early foul trouble and scored just two first-half points, but proved to be the dagger to every NCC rally in the second half, shooting 4-for-4 from beyond the arc and finishing with 21 points.
David Howard came off pine to score 13 points as the Geoduck bench outscored the Beacon reserves, 26-6.
Evergreen is back at home January 25th and 26th, playing Oregon Tech (17-2 and 8-1 CCC) Friday and Southern Oregon (6-13 and 2-7 CCC) on Saturday. Both games follow women's basketball action beginning at 5:30 PM.
