Drinkwine Announces the First of the Soon-To-Be Geoducks for the 2008-09 Seasong

OLYMPIA, Wash. - Head Coach Jeff Drinkwine has announced the recent signing of three transfer players and one high school senior player for the 2008-09 season. Jonny Sarysz from Renton, WA, Steve Trotter from Longview, WA, Travon Mouton from Houston, TX and Van Dellenback-Ouellette from Pittsfield, Maine.
Sarysz, a sharp shooting 6'1" guard averaged 14.7 PPG for South Puget Sound Community College as a freshman.
"Jonny can stretch the defense with his limitless shooting range," Evergreen assistant coach Lenny Rogers observes.
Before his time at SPSCC Jonny was a two-time First Team ALL-League performer at Lindbergh High School.
6'8" Steve Trotter is a versatile forward transfer from Lower Columbia College. Trotter began his career for perennial power Mark Morris High School where he picked up All-State honors. Trotter played in the Washington-Oregon game with current Geoduck standout Nick Moore.
He then went on to help LCC win two straight NWAACC titles and was named to First Team All-League and All-Tournament team. Trotter averaged 16 points and 8 rebounds per game for the Red Devils.
Trotter most recently played at Emporia State University a NCAA Division II school in Emporia, Kansas.
Travon Mouton will join Evergreen after playing for Lane Community College the past two seasons. At Lane he averaged 10 points and 5 rebounds per game and was a key addition to leading the Titans to the 2008 NWAACC tournament.
The 6'2" wing from Houston, Texas graduated from Furr High School.
"Travon is the guy that will get after it on defense, frustrate his opponent for forty minutes and have fun doing it" said Coach Drinkwine.
Van Dellenback-Ouellette is a 6'5" guard from Maine Central Institute, a prep school in Pittsfield, Maine has signed to play for Evergreen for the 2008-2009 season.
Dellenback-Ouellette averaged 17 points and 5 rebounds per game last season at Maine Central
Drinkwine notes, "Van has the chance to play a big role in the Geoducks future".
Originally from South Medford, Oregon, Van was a key player in his teams 2007 Oregon 6A State Championships win. In that season, Van averaged 7.8 points and 3 rebounds per game as a senior along side Kyle Singler, who is now playing for the Duke Blue Devils.
After his senior season Van attended Maine Central Prep to prepare him for college.
