Tonight's win sets the stage for a great conference rivalry tomorrow

ASHLAND, Ore. - Evergreen men's basketball will face conference and NAIA powerhouse Oregon Tech tomorrow in Klamath Falls. Tonight the Geoducks beat a struggling Southern Oregon (4-9, 0-3 CCC) team 91-68.
The Geoducks improve to 7-1 overall and 2-1 in the conference.
Tomorrow's opponent, OIT, shared the best record in the conference last season but were eliminated from the first round of the Cascade Conference Championships by Evergreen. Tech had already secured their place in the NAIA National Tournament and went on to advance to the second round.
Nathan Menefee (So, Timberline HS) led Evergreen scorers with 20 points but had help from strong performances by his teammates.
Michael Ward had 16 points, Marcus Whittaker chipped in 13 and Nick Moore had 11 for the Geoducks.
The Geoducks shot an impressive 58% from the field including 9 from three point range with Menefee hitting three of them and Moore also with three.
For SOU, Trevor McKay had a team high 17 point while Matt Cowell added 15 and Trenton Fraser 13 points. SOU was steady at the free throw line where they made 31-42 or 75% for the game.
