In that game, Nathan Menefee scored 27 points in the second half to bring his game total to 33 points. His tally included two back-to-back bomb drops well outside the three point range to break the 50-50 tie at 13 minutes to go in the game.

With the Beacon's being one of the fast improving teams in the conference, the Geoducks had a fight on their hands. NCU nearly upset the powerhouse Oregon Tech team last week and they've climbed up the conference standings from their #10 pre-season ranking to #6 today.

Evergreen held on for their seventh conference win, improving their record to 11-5 overall and 7-2 in the CCC.

Menefee now has six 30+ point games this season, bringing his career total at Evergreen to nine. In that category he is closing in on the ESC season record of 7 set by Quincy Wilder in the 2001-02 season. Last season Menefee shattered the old 20 point games in a season school record of 14 with 20 games over 20 points. He now has 12 20 point games.

Additionally, the Junior from Tacoma, Washington now leads the NAIA Div. II points per game category with a 24.25 ppg average. If that holds through the season, Menefee will also surpass another Wilder record of 22.9 ppg average in a season.

ESC is one of the few top conference teams that did not face an upset this past week and it bolstered their position in the rankings. After weekend conference play, Evergreen finds themselves in the number one spot in the conference.

At the national level, Evergreen again climbs up the NAIA polls, this time to #10. Oregon Tech falls to 7th from #1 and Warner Pacific bumps up to 16th to round out the top conference teams.

Tonight's game will follow the women's, with ESC also facing Southern Oregon (6-3 CCC, 14-4), the #3 CCC team. Evergreen improved their conference record to 3-6 and 8-8 overall with their Friday night win over the Beacons. They stand at 9th in CCC play.
