Menefee's big delivery to UPS earns Cascade Conference Player of Week honor
PORTLAND, Ore. -- Evergreen senior guard Nate Menefee was selected the Cascade Collegiate Conference Player of the Week for November 14-22 thanks to a 57-point outburst against the University of Puget Sound and a 20-point game two nights later against Lewis and Clark. Evergreen won both games.
Menefee, who graduated from Timberline High School in Lacey after spending the first 17 years of his life in Tacoma, hit 19-of-27 shots from the field and was a perfect 16-for-16 from the line in the 108-97 road victory over the Loggers and also managed eight assists. His 57 points were both an Evergreen and a CCC record. In a 71-44 rout of Lewis and Clark, his 20 also led the Geoducks.
Menefee is accustomed to being honored by the CCC as he has been the pre-season Player of the Year twice and the post-season Player of the Year for 2008-09 after leading Evergreen to its second appearance in the NAIA National Championships. Jessica Wilkerson, a six-foot senior from Issaquah, of Northwest University got the women's honor.
