Second half rally propels Geoducks past Linfield, 78-63
OLYMPIA, Wash. -- Balanced scoring and a 47-point second half explosion lifted The Evergreen State College men's basketball team to a 78-63 victory over visiting Linfield College in a non-conference game on Saturday night.
Three Geoducks reached double figures, with Ben Wilson leading the way with 19 points. Nate Menefee added 18 and Anthony Gallagher 13 while senior post Julio Felciano had a productive game with nine points, seven rebounds and five assists.
Linfield took a 32-31 lead into the break and led by as many as six in the second half when Cody Tesoro nailed a three-pointer two minutes in. But Evergreen (7-4) scored the next 16 points, taking the lead for good on a three by Josh Troyer with 15:22 to play at 40-39. The Geoducks led by as many as 17 before coasting home.
Tesoro led Linfield with 16, three points short of his average, while Zach Anderson scored 13 and Jon Weber 10.
Evergreen next plays on Thursday at Multnomah University in Portland.
