Chris Balske came to Evergreen in 2011 after four years as a certified athletic trainer at NCAA Division I University of Cincinnati.
A 1976 graduate of University of Missouri with a B.S. in Health Education, Balske brings sports medicine experience at all levels. At Cincinnati, he worked primarly with the baseball team, maintaining and coordinating health care for 35 student-athletes with regards to primary and critical care, and rehabilitation of all injuries and illnesses. Prior to UC, Balske was assistant professor of athletic training at Palm Beach Atlantic University, working extensively in both the classroom and in intercollegiate athletics.
Balske also has experience in the Pacific Northwest, having served as head athletic trainer at Clackamas Community College in Oregon City, Ore. from 1995-2000, providing services for over 350 student-athletes in 10 sports. He also served as head athletic trainer for Kamehameha Schools in Honolulu, Hawai'i, administering the sports medicine program for 115 teams in 35 sports in the country's largest school sports program.
In addition to his bachelors degree from Missouri, Balske also holds a M.S. in Health and Physical Education from Texas A&M University-Commerce. He has been a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association since 1977 and is also a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist.
