Eastern Oregon 3, Evergreen 1

September 22, 2001

Olympia, WA - The Geoducks started off the match with a solid win in game one, but the rest of the night belonged to the Mountaineers. Eastern Oregon won the match 3-1 with scores of 30-24, 24-30, 23-30, and 15-30.

The Geoducks (3-5, 1-3) were looking to pull even in the Cascade Conference but Eastern Oregon (5-5, 3-3) stopped the Evergreen attack. Two Geoduck spikers had double digit kills in the effort. Stephanie Short (Spokane, WA / Spokane Falls CC) and Elayna Campbell (Castle Rock, WA / Lower Columbia CC) each had 12 kills apiece. Hanna Plunk (Broomfield, CO / Broomfield HS) had 34 assists to go along with 12 digs.

Errors hurt the Geoducks again tonight. Evergreen had a total of 45 attacking errors and nine service errors. The Mountaineers had only 25 attacking errors and two service errors. That proved to be the difference in the game.

Evergreen will head home to play two more Cascade Conference matches on Thursday and Friday as Oregon Tech and Southern Oregon come to town. Both games will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the CRC Gymnasium
