October 9, 2001

Kirkland, WA - Evergreen picked up their third Cascade Conference win on Tuesday night against Northwest College. The win was the second on the road for Evergreen (5-8, 3-7) in the conference.

The Geoducks were led by their two middle blockers Courtney Brandon (Pomeroy, Wash. / Walla Walla CC) and Stephanie Short (Spokane, Wash./ Spokane Falls CC). Brandon had a game high 22 kills, while Short added 18. Anna Murray (Olympia, Wash./ St. Martin's) had a good night offensively as well for the Geoducks adding 11 kills and two service aces.

The Geoducks have played well in their last three games winning two of three, and the game that they lost, they played well and kept the match close against the 8th ranked team in the NAIA, Concordia (Ore.). The Geoducks have six conference games left in the season, with three of their next four at home, this should help them as they shoot for their first post-season appearance.
