Cavaliers sweep Evergreen

Portland, OR - Evergreen volleyball lost its fourth straight game of the season as the Cavaliers of Concordia University took three straight games from the Geoducks last night in Portland. The Cavaliers climb to 8-5 overall and 4-1 in conference play, while the Geoducks have yet to claim a win this season.
Leading the Cavalier attack was senior Bradey Wallenborn who had 11 kills and a hitting percentage of .226. As a team, CU totaled 41 kills and a .312 hitting percentage. The Cavaliers also racked up 13 service aces. Junior Andrea Ruen had four of those aces and also had 22 assists. Freshman setter Lauren Richards chipped in 10 assists.
Evergreen was led in kills by sophomore Emily Peterson with eight. Mattie Blevens and Elyse Johnston both added five kills on the evening.
CU led the entire first game eventually winning it 30-17. After the Geoducks pulled to within one point at 11-12, the Cavaliers scored 18 of the final 24 points to take the game.
Concordia prevailed in game-two, 30-22, and took the third game, 30-20.
Evergreen plays their fifth straight game on the road tonight at Corban College before returning to Olympia on Sunday evening for a match against Walla Walla College. That game with be played at the South Puget Sound Community College gym due to a scheduling conflict at Evergreen. The game will start at 7:00 p.m.
