Geoducks played their final home game of the season tonight
November 3, 2007
Olympia, WA - Visiting College of Idaho, ranked seventh in the most recent NAIA ratings, was not able to get out of town with an easy victory in tonight's match. The Yotes had many of their attacks foiled by the Geoduck defense in their 30-20, 30-15, 30-20 win. As has been the norm for the Geoducks this season, the team has risen to the challenge against the best teams.
At Friday's game against Eastern Oregon University (4th CCC) Evergreen's team played well but not as motivated as their final home game of the season tonight. Evergreen lost their game with EOU 30-15, 30-17,30-18.
Freshman Sabrina Tan of the Geoducks tallied nine kills, one block and ten defensive digs. Kandice Gleaves (So) killed the ball eight times with nine digs. Frosh setter Katie Huston had fourteen assists.
For the Yotes, three players were in the double digits in the kills category. Kristin Henning, Katie Hogue and Katie Zillner each had ten winning attacks. Hogue adding two blocks and one block assist to her totals. Setter Naomi Reimer had twenty assists.
The College of Idaho improves their overall record to 20-7 and 17-1 in Cascade Conference play. Evergreen (0-18) will play again Friday November 9th and Saturday the 10th in Portland, OR at Warner Pacific and Cascade respectively.
