Olympia, WA - The Evergreen State College Women's Basketball team ended a two game losing streak with a rare non-conference February game against the visiting Walla Walla Wolves (5 - 13 Overall).

The final score of 92-47 produced five new records for the 2003-04 Women's Basketball team, who has made a habit this season of rewriting the record book. Evergreen's 92-points beat the previous game high score of 85, set last January 06, 2003, at Walla Walla. The 61 points scored by the Geoducks in the first half was a new record. The 45-point margin of victory today erased the previous record for 'Largest Margin of Victory' (41 points) and 'Largest Win - Home' set against Walla Walla on January, 20, 2002. The full court press that Evergreen used from three quarters of the game produced a record breaking 20 steals.

Additionally, Evergreen tied the game record for 'Assists', with 22. For Evergreen, the win was a team effort, as all eight players that suited up scored, with the exception of sophomore Karen Cale (Tumwater, WA/Black Hills HS).

Senior Kristen Zompetti (Seattle, WA / Highline CC) had her tenth 20-point game, scoring a game high 22-points.

Heather Hyde

Junior Heather Hyde (Olympia, WA / Tacoma CC) was Evergreen's inside presence today, scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds.

Next on tap for the Geoducks are the final two Cascade Conference games of the season. Next weekend, Evergreen will be in Portland, Ore., to take on the second place Warner Pacific Knights (12-4 Cascade Conference, 17-10 Overall) on Friday, Feb. 20th, followed by Cascade College (1-14 CCC, 1-22 Ovr.) on Saturday.

The Cascade Conference Post-Season tournament begins Tuesday, Feb. 24th.
