Geoducks Overtake Linfield, 58-53

Tacoma, WA - Evergreen State outscored Linfield 38-21 in the second half, en route to a 58-53 victory in the opening game of the Pacific Lutheran Winter Classic Friday at Olson Auditorium.

With their second win of the week, the Geoducks improved to 3-4 while Linfield slipped to 2-3.

Jenny Olson scored 15 points and had a game-high nine rebounds for Evergreen, which improved its shooting percentage from .273 in the first half to .423 in the final stanza. Evergreen's Stephanie MacDuff and Heather Hyde also scored in double figures with 11 and 10 respectively.

Wildcats guard Brandi Loring scored a season-high 18 points including three three-pointers. Kendra Victor added 16 points and nine rebounds, sinking 6 of 9 shots from the field. The Wildcats watched as their shooting accuracy dipped from .400 in the opening half to .278 over the final 20 minutes.

The Geoducks out rebounded the Wildcats by three, 36-33, and committed two fewer turnovers. Linfield struggled at the free throw line, hitting just 14 of 23 attempts.
