Evergreen takes first conference loss

Klamath Falls, OR - The Evergreen State College women's basketball team suffered its first conference loss of the season as the Geoducks fell 70-61 at Oregon Tech. Evergreen couldn't take advantage of scorching shooting in the first half as they jumped out to a 16-6 lead by hitting their first four three pointers, but led the only by only a point, 37-36 at the half.
The Geoducks shot 52 percent from the field in the first half and 66 percent from three point range making eight of 12 treys.
But Evergreen cooled off in the second period shooting just under 30 percent from the field and Oregon Tech dominate the boards 48-29 to down the Clams by the final nine point margin.
Ashley DuBree and Amanda Doherty led Oregon Tech with double-doubles. DuBrey had 21 points and 16 rebounds while Doherty added 13 points and 12 boards. Tech won the battle of the boards 48-29.
The Geoducks were without several players due to illness, but put three players into double figures as Jen ny Olson topped Evergreen with 18 points while Dalia Gomez added 14 and Courtnie Wilson chipped in with 13 points.
Evergreen returns to campus for its next two conference games as they host Albertson and Eastern Oregon on the 29th and 30th. Both games have 5:30 starts times.
