Olympia, WA - Evergreen State College women's basketball coach, Monica Heuer, announced Thursday that Kristi Auckland of Everett, Wash. and Nikki Jordan of Bothell, Wash., signed letters of intent to play with the Geoducks for the 2006-07 season.

Aukland, a 5'10 forward, is coming to Evergreen as a junior after playing for coach Chet Horde at Everett Community College for two years. Evergreen coach, Monica Heuer says, Auckland will add to our presence inside. She is strong and has good moves around the basket.

Auckland is 2nd in NWAACC scoring with 20ppg and 7rpg. Most of all she is excited about continuing her education at Evergreen.

Auckland attended Cascade High School, receiving 1st Team All-League honors and played on the Seattle Magic AAU team.

"Kristi has a great personality. She is easy going off the court while on the court she knows how to step it up," says Coach Heuer.

Jordan, a 6'0 guard/forward, is also coming to Evergreen after two years with Everett Community College . Nikki Jordan is a perimeter player that can score. While she is a three point threat, she possesses handles that can get her to the basket. In addition to her scoring, she is a tough defensive player. She has a real competitive spirit and she looks forward to pushing herself to another level on and off the court, says Heuer.

Nikki averaged 15ppg and 4rpg while attending Everett Community College. While at Marysville Pilchuck High School she was named 1st Team All-League and was also a member of the Seattle Magic AAU team.

"Nikki will bring us size, attitude, and be an outside threat for us next year. She is also excited about what she can accomplish through her academics here at Evergreen." says Coach Heuer.
