Two standout high school players to join team for 2007-08 season

Olympia, WA - Coach Monica Heuer announced the addition of two incoming freshman players to the women's squad this week.

Latifa Ward from Puyallup, WA.(Foss High School) and Heather Cardelli (Evergreen High School) have signed their letter of intent for the 2007-08 season.

Ward is 5'11 Freshman post player who averaged 12 points and 5 rebounds per game her senior season. She is a Washington Achievers Recipient, team captain, MVP and was nominated to First Team Conference honors in her senior season.

Coach Heuer welcomes Ward to the team. "She is a driven individual and a pleasure to be around. Her leadership skills are strong and she will contribute right away on and off the court".

Ward plans to study journalism or social science.

Hailing from from Brush Prairie, WA., 5'8 guard Cardelli was team captain all four years at EHS, most inspirational and MVP her senior year.

Cardelli would like to pursue Health Science while at Evergreen.

"Heather is excited about coming to Evergreen and she is determined to succeed. We are excited about her work ethic and what she will be bring." commented Heuer.
