Yotes Run Away in 2nd Half for a 83-67 Win

Olympia, WA - Evergreen stayed competitive with College of Idaho in the first half, despite not playing four key players tonight. At the first half buzzer ESC trailed by just 6 with a score of 44-38.

With eight minutes remaining, CI put on a run that pulled them out of range of the Geoducks. It was the second heavy loss for Evergreen in two nights as they drop to 7-8 overall and 2-6 Cascade Conference records.

The College of Idaho, currenly 15th in the NAIA Div II rankings, outgunned ESC with big outside shooting by players like Nicole Gall (Boise, Idaho). Gall led all scorers with a 27 point game, hitting 5 three's.

Evergreen outshot the Yotes in field goals, with a 45% to 42% advantage. CI shot nearly as well from the three point range hitting 40% of their attempts to ESC's 19%.

Jeanette Owens (Pasco, WA) had a great game for the Geoducks with a season's and ESC career best 17 points and 6 rebounds. Kristi Auckland tallied 16 points and a season's high 15 rebounds. Alex Saab (Lakewood, WA) also played a standout game with a 15 point and 2 assists performance.

Gall also added 2 assists and 7 rebounds to her performance for the Yotes. Criston Vander Esch (Riggin's, Idaho) had a double double game with 13 points and 12 rebounds.

On the schedule next for Evergreen is a home conference game with Northwest Christian University (Eugene, OR) on Friday the 16th at 5:00 PM.
