Olympia, WA - Kristi Auckland led all scorers with 20 points to help Evergreen win their fourth straight at the Greenhouse tonight. Tomorrow the Geoducks host Simpson University at 5:30 PM

The Geoducks outscored their opponents 47% to 38% from the field and made half their shots in the first period to head into the locker room with a 31-23 lead.

At the 10 minute mark in the second half the Geoducks had a 15 point cushion over Bethany.

The Bruins fought back and made it a game late in the second period.

The Evergreen bench subbed some starting players and it was then that the Bruins were able to take advantage of some inexperience. Over the next 7 minutes the Geoducks lead dwindled to just 2 points.

Bethany had some tricks of their own, regularly subbing in a full lineup to keep their team fresh. From the 10 minute mark to three minutes remaining, Bethany forced no less than 6 turnovers by Evergreen players. Evergreen fouls sent Bruins to the line 11 times where they made an impressive 81% of attempts.

A three point shot at 3:53 by Sara Skelton rallied the team to get back in the game. Skelton was fouled on the play and made her free throw.

Auckland and then Alex Saab hit a field goal each in a row and the Geoducks lead grew to a comfortable 10 points.

The remainder of Evergreen's points came from free throws.

A trio of Geoducks scored in the double digits. Auckland's 20 points was accompanied by 7 rebounds and 3 assists. Rosalind Lee also had 7 rebounds with 16 points and 2 assists. Sara Skelton was 3 of 3 from three point range.

For the Bruins, Rosie Brown made 12 points and 5 rebounds. Heather Mazza and Kayla Lynch had 9 points each.

Evergreen improves their record to 4-0 overall while Bethany dropped to 1-4.
