Oregon Tech 3, Evergreen 1

October 13, 2001

Klamath Falls, OR - The Geoducks had one of their longer road trips of the season this past weekend, and it showed. The Geoducks ran out of "gas" in the second half of the game on Saturday against Oregon Tech.

Evergreen tied Southern Oregon University on Friday afternoon, in a game that ran well into the evening. The match went two overtimes and neither team could put in the winning goal. The Geoducks then made the trip from Ashland to Klamath Falls and were ready to play again on Saturday.

The Geoducks started the game strong as they ended the first half tied with the Owls (7-5-1, 4-4-1) at 1-1, but the second half was all OIT. Evergreen (4-8-2, 3-5-1) found themselves down 1-0, but a goal by Lori Wieser (Elma, Wash. / Pacific Lutheran) tied the game before half.

Dena Young had two goals for the Owls in the second half as OIT went on to victory. Evergreen took seven shots in the second half to try and even the score, but were unsuccessful.

Evergreen will be at home on Tuesday to play a game against Concordia (Ore.). Game time will be at 2:30 p.m. The game was originally scheduled for September 12, but was rescheduled due to the events in New York and Washington D.C.
