Women's soccer wins

August 25, 2006

Olympia, WA - Evergreen sports secured their first win of the fall season with a victory by the women's soccer team over Doane College with a score of 4-0.

Doane, also an NAIA school, was outplayed by the Evergreen squad both on the front line and at defense.

Pressure on the Tigers goal came largely from the trio of Lisa Leadon, Alice Dietz and Kati Hackenberger. Leadon scoring two goals, Dietz with one and two assists and Kati with six shots on goal. Mira Sussman scored on her only shot on goal.

Doane keeper Alicia Exstrom did an excellent job of defending the net, but could not stop the Geoduck onslaught.

Evergreen Coach Paolo Mottola complimented the strong midfield play of April MacKay and Maeve Demspey.

The Geoducks win over the Tigers sets their season record to 1-2.

Evergreen will continue to play on their home turf at the upcoming Arno Zoske Tournament which happens on September 1st through the 3rd.
