September 29, 2006
Ashland, OR - The Evergreen State College (5-8) bested Southern Oregon University (3-7) in a 3-0 decision Friday afternoon. SOU has only been defeated at home once this season prior to this game.
The Geoducks had only 13 shots on the day with only five on goal, three of which went in the record books as scores. The Raiders racked up 10 shots on goal, but failed to add a goal to the scoreboard.
Alice Dietz tallied five for the Geoducks while also having one goal and one assist.
Dietz's assists came mid-way through the first half at 34:48 when she made a pass to Mira Sussman. Sussman shot the ball just over SOU goalie, Melanie Hopkins, and snuck the shot in just below the goal post.
The Geoducks second goal came off of a pass from Jenine Adam to Marissa Major on a corner kick at 48:56. Adam's kick went directly in front of the goal where Major took a swing and sent the ball going just wide of Hopkins into the goal.
The third goal, put in at 81:11 by Alice Dietz was unassisted. After rebounding off of a Raider, Dietz shot the ball while Hopkins found herself away from the goal. The ball went past Hopkins and rolled into the goal for the third score of the day for the Geoducks.
