Women's soccer has a great night, winning 3-1
October 18, 2006
Kirland, WA - The women's soccer team's defeat tonight over #5 Cascade Conference ranked Northwest University sends a strong message to their opponents going into the conference playoffs. They have shown that even with a rough start to their season, that included the sudden departure of their head coach, they are not about to give up. Because of their win, they bring the next game to their home turf as Albertson College is forced to travel because of their surprise loss to Eastern Oregon today.
In one of the most exciting performances by Evergreen sports this fall, the Geoducks scored a hat trick from Alice Dietz tonight.
Dietz's first goal came 19:48 into the game on assists by Kati Hackenberger and Jenine Adam. Her second goal came at 35:26 in the first half on an unassisted goal. Dietz finished her hat trick 62:36 into the game on an assist from April MacKay. Jenine Adam's assist ranks her fourth in that category in the conference.
Northwest's lone goal came 2 minutes later as Katie Ellis put one through for the Eagles unassisted.
Evergreen (6-10, 5-4) will start their game at 1:00 PM Saturday following the Pete Steilberg Cross Country Open at 10:00 AM.
