Lecture Hall
Classroom 6
The State of Washington Legislative Internship Program offers Washington college students the opportunity to gain PAID work experience while studying the state legislative process up close. During the internship in winter 2018, interns work for members of the Washington State House of Representatives or Senate while earning academic credit from Evergreen. Interns work alongside legislative staff to learn first-hand about public policy, build real-world professional skills, and serve the citizens of Washington State. This internship includes conducting legislative research, drafting policy and other documents, bill tracking, and constituent communications.
Students must be a junior or senior as of the winter 2018 quarter to participate in the internship program. During the winter 2017 quarter, 14 students from Evergreen participated in this program.
The May 8, 2017 information session will be hosted by:
• Paula Rehwaldt – House Civic Education and Intern Coordinator
• Emily McCartan – Senate Civic Education and Intern Coordinator
• Jean Eberhardt – Academic Advisor – Academic & Career Advising
• Several student interns from the winter 2017 internship session will also be the “experts” at this information session
