Emerging Issues in Non-Profit

This two-credit, intensive weekend course will examine current issues in the nonprofit sector including re-defining the field, changes in the environment, social media, social entrepreneurship/venture philanthropy, hybrid organizations, etc. We will examine how these emerging issues are impacting the field currently, as well as future possibilities. The course is designed to help students consider possible appropriate actions in ambiguous, complex, and ever-changing situations. Written assignments will consist of two small seminar papers, and a larger final paper.   NB  This course will be held on the Tacoma campus.
