This practicum provides an opportunity for students to study, discuss, and practice reflective writing about their education, with the goal of writing an Academic Statement that represents their learning accurately, elegantly, and persuasively. The Academic Statement is a distinguishing feature of an Evergreen student's portfolio and transcript, in which you explicitly and publicly show that you can "Articulate and Assume Responsibility for Your Own Work" (the first of the Six Expectations of an Evergreen Graduate). Whether you are preparing an annual of final Statement, this course will help you take advantage of this opportunity to assess your academic progress, with support from faculty and peers. Class time will be dedicated to discussions of formal and stylistic considerations, audience, and tone; peer review; guest presentations; and individual review sessions with the instructor.
