This orchestra is comprised of students and community members. Standard symphonic orchestral literature is studied and rehearsed. Performances are scheduled near the end of each academic quarter. Orchestra members are expected to be good music sight readers and to possess at least high school playing ability. Participation requires an interview with the director and may also require an informal audition. Students interested in enrolling must contact the director, Chip Schooler email@example.com , for permission to register.
NOTE: This class meets at South Puget Sound Community College and starts 1 week before Evergreen classes. The first meeting is January 4th at 2011 Mottman Road, SW, Olympia, WA 98512, Building 21, room 253, Thursdays, from 7-9:30 pm
BOOKS: If a text is required students will need to purchase texts for this course from the SPSCC bookstore. The book list can be found on the bookstore website (http://spscc.bncollege.com) under the course Musc 160.
