Fall 2009 Stories

Evergreen is the Key to completing your degree

Completing a college degree can be a key step in one’s professional advancement. However, the competing demands of work and Image of a Keyhome often push college plans to the back burner. To help returning adult students take the first step toward earning a degree, Evergreen’s Evening and Weekend Studies (EWS) will host an evening information session at the Olympia Timberland Library on Wednesday, May 20 at 6:00 p.m.

“This session provides prospective students with a complete package of tools to get started,” says Abby Kelso, EWS outreach coordinator. “No matter where you are in the process, from exploring options to choosing classes, we’ll have the services available to meet your needs.”

In addition to meeting faculty and learning about admission, participants can meet with a career counselor and even register for fall classes. Prospective students can also apply for new student tuition waivers in order to try a 4-credit class without paying tuition.

With its convenient scheduling options, generous transfer credit policy, and small class size, Evening and Weekend Studies is well designed to meet the needs of working adults. The information session is an excellent way for new students to see if Evergreen is the right fit for their needs.
