Working Together to Support Student Success

While our daily work at the Foundation involves telling the Evergreen story, engaging alumni and other supporters with the college, each other and our students, and generating financial contributions, our ultimate aim is to serve students. Through scholarships, faculty and student development opportunities and other investments, we provide students with

an opportunity to leverage Evergreen’s unique educational experience to help them achieve their personal and career goals. And we do that only through the generosity of our supporters. Thank you.

In this report, you will read stories about students, faculty and donors that provide a small glimpse into the ways in which private support for Evergreen can make a real difference for individuals, communities and society. You will learn a little about our Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowships that bring students and faculty together to advance substantive field work and research. You will meet Cheryl Miller, a student in the Reservation-Based Community-Determined program and a recipient of a scholarship funded by the Muckleshoot Tribe. We will also introduce you to Evergreen alumnus Dan Tishman, whose contributions to green building, environmental advocacy and student success at Evergreen stand out as much as some of his most prominent buildings (including One World Trade Center in New York City).

In an era when private support for student access and success at Evergreen is more critical than ever, we are making positive strides. This report documents some of that progress and provides an opportunity to say thank you to the many individuals and organizations that have made it possible.

Sincerely,

Lee Hoemann
Vice President for Advancement
