For Graduates

Graduation T-Shirts

Buy your graduation t-shirts online or in the Greener Bookstore on campus.

The Greener Bookstore donates $5.00 for each t-shirt sold to the 2014 Class Donation. This year's class donation goes to Gateways for Incarcerated Youth, an Evergreen Foundation project that empowers incarcerated youth to create a positive future for themselves through youth-driven cultural awareness and educational programming.

About the Ceremony

Evergreen’s commencement is held outdoors on Red Square at the center of campus, rain or shine.

The ceremony begins at 1 p.m. and lasts approximately three hours. A reception will follow in the Daniel J. Evans Library Lobby. With 1,000 or more graduates to recognize, we ask that the audience remain seated until the recessional has concluded. The last person recognized deserves the same support, respect, and celebration as the first. Your presence is part of the graduation experience for all. Graduates, families, and friends will appreciate your thoughtfulness.

Tickets are not required. Early arrival is recommended for best seating and parking.

Food will be available for purchase on Red Square and in the adjacent College Activities Building.

We will broadcast the ceremony in all the Lecture Halls and the Lecture Halls in all Seminar II buildings (A–E) rooms 2107 & 2109.

Can’t attend in person? The commencement ceremony is streamed live. The ceremony will also be broadcast on TCTV.

Parking & Transportation

All parking is free on graduation day. However, more than 7,000 people are expected to attend the ceremony and parking will be at maximum capacity.

Download a campus map (PDF) marked with locations for graduation day parking. Marked shuttle vans will run from 11 am to 1:30 pm and from 3 pm to 5 pm between the farthest parking areas (Parking Lot F, meadow parking off Driftwood Road) and the main campus.

Intercity Transit buses also run to the college every 15 minutes between downtown Olympia and the college, and every half hour between Capitol Mall and the college.
