Test Optional Admissions

You are an individual and should not be defined by a letter, a number, or a test score.

Applying test optional gives you the opportunity to apply with a depth that reflects who you really are.

Whether you use the Evergreen application or the common application, test-optional admissions is open to all first-year (freshman) applicants including homeschoolers, GED holders, international students, and transfer students with less than 40 transferable credits. Contact your Admissions Counselor for more information.

You Have a Choice.

Applying test optional removes the requirement for SAT or ACT test scores. In place of test scores you will submit a 300-500 word essay responding to the prompt:

How has your experience prepared you to attend The Evergreen State college?
