Housing Community Gardens Coordinator

The Housing Community Gardens program works in partnership with the Evergreen Community Gardens to provide accessible gardening resources for campus residents.  Fall 2010 was the pilot season for the program, and a small number of raised beds are available for dedicated residents to plant and maintain throughout the school year.  If the program is successful and existing beds are fully utilized, the number of plots available will be expanded for Fall 2012 and beyond.  This position is ideal for someone w

7.4 Student Academic & Support Services

Student Academic and Support Services - or "SASS" - provides advisement to students in areas of personal, academic and professional growth. A number of services - from Career Development to Student Activities - is housed under SASS.

The central office is located in the Student Advising Center on the second floor of the library.  Dr. Phyllis Lane, the Dean of Students, provides referrals to campus and community resources and conducts an ongoing assessment of students' needs, satisfaction and educational outcomes.

The Sustainability Community at Evergreen is made up of students committed to living an environmentally conscious, socially just, and sustainable lifestyle. Residents of the Sustainability Community must apply to live in this distinct themed community.

There is, of course, the dictionary definition and yes, even Wikipedia has a few things to say on the matter.  For those of you interested in etymology, you may find it interesting that community is the joining of two other words: Common and unity.

Young people in all socioeconomic groups have college aspirations. In fact, eight out of 10 expect to attain a bachelor's degree or higher, according to the U.S. Department of Education. But despite these aspirations, low-income students and those who are the first in their families to pursue higher education are severely underrepresented on college campuses.

5.3. Duty Equipment

Using the Duty Equipment

All duty equipment (keys, phones, radios and duty bags) are kept in the RA Work Room (RAWR) in the RAD office. When it is time to sign-in for duty at 4:45 p.m., each RA will gather the duty equipment and sign out the equipment on the provided sheets. RAs are expected to sign the equipment back in no later than 12 p.m. the following day.
