The Evergreen State College Announces ‘Tacoma Treasures’ Sale for Scholarships on July 10

The Tacoma Treasures event takes place at The Evergreen State College – Tacoma Campus at 1210 6th Ave, Tacoma, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on July 10.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the Evergreen Tacoma Annual Fund supporting student scholarships, math and writing tutors, and critical campus needs.

Items for sale will include gently used toys, household items, clothing, and more.

The event is sponsored by the Evergreen Alumni Association.

Tacoma - The Washington State History Museum and the Longhouse Education and Cultural Center at The Evergreen State College present the fifth annual "In the Spirit" celebration, which includes an exhibit and the Northwest Native Arts Market & Festival.

Plato Royalty Funds

Royalties received from the PLATO computer-aided instruction materials developed at Evergreen during the early eighties have been used to endow equipment, training and an annual lecture series on computer-related topics.  Each year the academic deans are to notify faculty of the amount available for both the equipment and public lecture series in the coming academic year and request proposals. Sponsored Research Grants for Faculty

Each year, Evergreen provides funding to regular faculty to pursue research and creative projects. Sponsored Research awards are competitive; in some years the college is able to fund only a quarter of the proposals it receives.

Funding is awarded in three categories:

1. Research Awards involving paid leaves which may not exceed one quarter in the regular academic year or two months in the summer.
