National Survey Notes High Levels of Student Engagement

(Olympia, Wash.) Students at The Evergreen State College reported higher than average engagement on all benchmark measures of the 2009 National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE), which included academic challenge, active and collaborative learning, student-faculty interaction, enriching educational experiences, and a supportive campus environment.

December 9, 2009 Budget Update

Update from Les 12-9-09

This morning, the Governor presented her budget proposal for 2010-11.  Her proposal would modify the state's 2009-11 biennial budget to respond to a budget deficit that is currently estimated at $2.6 billion.
 

Community Service Work Study

The Evergreen Community Service Work Study provides a strong campus-to-community partnership, with the Center for Community Based Learning and Action (CCBLA), Student Employment and local organizations. The project places 5 Evergreen Community Service Work Study students in grassroots, non-profit organizations . Community organization staff members jointly interview work study candidates. These placements expand student learning and participation in local social justice organization and developed the capacities of those organizations to support students.
