Policies & Procedures
If you do not live on campus, you may obtain a duplicate decal for your second vehicle for $10, payable by cash, check, or VISA or MasterCard debit or credit. To purchase your duplicate decal, please bring your 2nd vehicle's registration to the Parking Office in Seminar I, Room 2150, so that we may verify the license plate and vehicle ownership. Please ensure that only one of your cars is on campus at any given time, or purchase a day pass for the second vehicle when both must be on campus.
Decals should be placed on the front windshield, lower left corner (driver's side lower corner) so that they can be seen from outside the vehicle and the quarterly validation is visible. Motorcycle decals should be displayed on the front fork so that they are visible when your bike is in the resting position.
Please remove expired parking decals prior to placing your new one on your windshield or motorcycle's front fork. Decals are valid for use as soon as they are purchased and correctly displayed.
If you sell your vehicle or it is totaled in an accident, please remove your decal from the vehicle and return it to the Parking Office for a possible refund.
For replacement decals, if you are able to bring the damaged decal into the Parking Office we may be able to waive the duplicate decal fee.
Permanent staff and faculty who are eligible for payroll deduction may purchase the small lavendar decals that expire in Sept. 2012. We are able to accept a one time payroll deduction as the method of payment for duplicate decals or citations. Forms are available in parking services.
Boots & Tows Parking Enforcement boots a vehicle when the vehicle fits any one of these situations:
1) If a vehicle displays an altered permit.
2) If a vehicle is parked at an expired meter for over 1 hour. If the boot fee and expired meter citatoins are not paided within 4 hours, the vehicle is towed at the owners expense.
3) If you have at least 3 tickets, the oldest being at least 90 days old, your car is eligible to be booted. If a wheel lock is placed on your vehicle you will need to come into the parking service office and will be required to pay the boot fee ($35) as well as all of your current unpaid tickets. Once the fines are paid, the wheel lock will be removed. If you feel you cannot pay these charges and are currently enrolled you may have the option to send these charges to student accounts. If the boot fee and citations are not paid within 24 hours, the vehicle is towed at the owners expense.
Unattened vehicles in firelanes, service roads, and other unauthorized aresas may be immediately towed at owners expense.
