Publication Excerpt
From the preface to You Are Your Career:
In my work as a career counselor I meet many people who can’t seem to get their career started or are unhappy with their career choices. I wrote this book to consolidate many of the things I’ve learned about how to help people find a better fit between who they are as a person and the work they pursue. It is based on the premise that what you value in your life is key to projecting yourself into satisfying work—paid employment, self-employment, small business employment and/or volunteer employment. As you find out more about yourself, finding a compatible career becomes much easier. There are many books on the market that promise an easy, trouble free way to accomplish all of your life goals. The problem is that many people have no clear idea about what their life goals are, much less a strategy to actualize them. This book is an attempt to help you find clarity about what you want to do and create a plan to get it done.
How did Evergreen help you in your career?
Evergreen provided (and still provides) an encouraging intellectual environment where creativity is welcomed and celebrated.
