The CRC has four changing rooms: large multi-user men’s and women’s locker rooms, and two private, locking, gender-inclusive facilities.
Please bring your own lock. You can lock up items overnight in the baskets in the larger locker rooms. Half-size lockers are for day use only.
All changing rooms include showers, toilets, and changing tables. If you're using the pool, try out the swimsuit spinners. Like a salad spinner for your bathing suit, it'll suck out the water to get the suit dry enough to take with you.
Anyone under 18 using the locker rooms should be accompanied by an adult. As a family, you may use the smaller gender-inclusive changing rooms together.
The smaller changing rooms include ADA accessible showers. Lockers are adjacent to the rooms for storage while using the CRC.
Questions About Gender in the Locker Rooms
We follow Washington state laws and The Evergreen State College non-discrimination policy, which include gender identity as a protected class. An individual's gender identity is not always consistent with what some people expect to see in traditional physical presentation. That can include clothing, hairstyles, make-up, or even body parts.
Students and patrons are welcome to use the locker room space where they feel most comfortable, and that corresponds with their gender identity.
Evergreen staff will NOT require identification or otherwise ask someone to “prove” gender in order to access locker rooms. Such requests are inappropriate and unlawful. All students and patrons retain the rights of privacy as well as physical and emotional safety. Feel free to contact any of our staff with accommodation requests.
Hallway lockers are available by the climbing gym on the second floor for stashing items while using the climbing gym or weight rooms.
If you need to feed your child or pump milk while using the CRC, let our staff know. We have private rooms on the first floor. These rooms are equipped with furniture, sinks, toilets, and showers.
