Looking Back at Your Education: Write an Academic Statement

Session Description:
Come learn about the Academic Statement Initiative, a college-wide effort to help students plan and document their Evergreen education. You’ll have an opportunity to discuss and reflect on your own path through Evergreen and write an Academic Statement of your own. This session is hosted by Nancy Koppelman (’88), Member of the Faculty who is directing implementation of the Initiative.
Facilitator Biography:

Nancy Koppelman '88, Member of the Faculty: Nancy Koppelman holds a B.A. from Evergreen, an M.A. in History from the University of Washington, and a Ph.D. in American Studies from Emory University. She has been teaching at Evergreen since 1996.

Tom Carlson '14: Tom moved here in 2009 from Denver, CO. He has studied political economy, colonial history, American culture and literature, and plans to study literature and culture studies upon graduation. He is currently enrolled in the Dark Romantics program and is planning a project around some of Hegel's and Nietzsche's philosophies. He works as a tutor at the Writing Center and has worked in native plant restoration for multiple organizations in Olympia. In addition, Tom likes to backpack, bicycle and rap.
