Undergraduate Scholarships & Tuition Awards

Evergreen Merit Award, First Peoples’, Foundation and Sevcik Scholarships

Amount: Varying amounts; multiple awards
Due Date: February 3

PLEASE SUBMIT ONLY ONE APPLICATION to be considered for all four scholarship opportunities listed below (Evergreen Merit Award, First Peoples’, Foundation and Sevcik Scholarships). Recipients will be selected from a combined application pool.

Evergreen Merit Award
Amount: Multiple awards in varying amounts up to $8,200

Offered to new students entering Evergreen Fall Quarter 2014 as full-time undergraduate students who demonstrate high academic achievement. NOTE: A FAFSA application is not required if you are applying for this scholarship only.

First Peoples’ Scholarship

Amount: Multiple awards in varying amounts contingent on class standing
Freshman - $9,000 (split over 4 years)
Sophomore - $7,000 (split over 3 years)
Juniors - $5,000 (split over 2 years)

Offered to new or currently enrolled students of color (African American, Asian, Latino/Latina, Native American, Pacific Islander, Alaskan Native or students who self-identify as multi-racial) with freshman, sophomore or junior standing attending full time who have the potential to distinguish themselves after graduation in a field of their choosing. Preference will be given to students demonstrating financial need.

Foundation Scholarship

Multiple awards in varying amounts contingent on class standing
Freshmen - $9,000 (split over 4 years)
Sophomore - $7,000 (split over 3 years)
Juniors - $5,000 (split over 2 years)
Seniors - $3000 (one year)

Offered to new or currently enrolled students attending full time who have the potential to distinguish themselves after graduation in a field of their choosing. Preference will be given to students demonstrating financial need.

Rita Sevcik Scholarship

Amount: $1,000

Offered to new or currently enrolled students attending full time who have the potential to distinguish themselves after graduation in a field of their choosing. Preference will be given to students demonstrating financial need.

Submit the following to be considered for all 3 scholarship pools: 

  • Letter of application no longer than two pages. Please speak to the following in your letter of application:
    • What do you intend to study at Evergreen and why?
    • How do you plan to use your degree after you finish Evergreen?
    • Describe how you plan to use your talents to make a difference after graduation.
  • Two letters of recommendation supporting your application.
  • FAFSA (see How to Apply #4) is required for consideration for the First Peoples’, Foundation & Sevcik Scholarships. A FAFSA application is not required for the Enrollment Services Merit Scholarship.
